Now "modern" medicine says we should give kids peanuts to help them avoid developing allergies. This 180-degree change is only the latest we've all had to deal with from these folks. Are doctors really surprised that we don't trust them to know what the heck they're doing? One day they tell us one thing, the next day it's completely different, and the public is supposed to just accept it all with blind faith.
Wrong. We know better and we know more today. First of all we know that doctors don't walk on water, they are fallible human beings just like the rest of us. Second, the latest pill or gizmo isn't necessarily the answer to our health problems, it's just the latest way for the medical industry to make more money. Third, medical care in America is quickly on track to bankrupt our nation. We spend more (much, much more) but get less than any other industrialized country on earth.
This latest change is just one more example of how little doctors really know and why we all need to take responsibility for our own health.
